volunteer and 2 puppies

MAHS does its best to place the animals it cares for into new and loving forever homes. Our adoption program consists of completing a short adoption application, having a manager go over the application, and then agreeing to our contract. Below are a few requirements of our adoption contract:

  • All animals must be spayed and/or neutered.
  • Adopters must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Renters must show permission from landlord to own pets.
  • Animals are to be treated humanely and all state laws followed.

Adoption Fees (Cash, Check, and Credit/Debit)

  • Puppies Under 6 Months: $275
  • Adult Mixed Breed Dogs (6 Months – 7 Years): $200
  • Adult Pit Mixes (6 Months -7 Years): $150
  • Senior Dogs (8 Years or Older): $150
  • Long Term Dogs (6 Months or Longer at the Shelter): $100
  • Kittens Under 6 Months: $100
  • Adult Cats (6 months or Older): $75

Our adoption fees go directly to helping cover the cost of caring for the animals in our care. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations, dewormed, given monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, and receive a microchip. Cats receive their FVRCP vaccination, a feline leukemia/FIV test, monthly flea and tick treatment, deworming, a microchip, and their spay/neuter surgery as well.

Remember when you are adopting from the Marion Humane Society, you are saving and providing a better life for an animal.

If you are  interested in adoption, please stop out to the shelter to meet any animal and fill out an onsite application.
